Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports To (Title): Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

Responsible execution of maintenance work orders, troubleshooting and production support.  Highly motivated, self-directed, multi-craft worker that can work autonomously in a fast-paced production environment.  Participating in the preventive maintenance program to ensure the equipment is maintained properly to maximize production capacity.  Assist with and provide recommendations for maintenance improvements during program launch and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of maintenance work orders as necessary for efficient production and facilities general maintenance.
  • Serve as liaison between site maintenance and outside contractors.
  • Provide leadership, training, and technical support to all departments: Production, QC, EH&S, New Product Development, Shipping/Receiving, Office Staff.

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are completed in a time manner.
  • Ensure equipment is running properly to ensure maximum production is achievable.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating within the manufacturers’ guidelines and the Health & Safety policies.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures: LOTO, Electrical Safety, OSHA standards.

  • Provide recommendations and assist with implementation of maintenance improvements.
  • Assist with and provide guidance to maintenance team to ensure proper installation and repair of equipment.
  • Work with facility leadership team on proper maintenance and operation of new equipment or upgrades to current equipment.
  • Help to develop and revise new and current training materials as the facility adds new technology to their processes.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Required:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Professional Certifications, Industrial Tech Degree

Experience

Minimum Required:

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing/production packaging facility.  Paint Booth experience is a plus.

Job Specific Skills

Minimum Required:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Competent with MS Office suite
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical/electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge/experience with operation and maintenance of fluid transfer equipment.

Preferred:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good communication skills in written and verbal formats.
  • Siemens PLC programming a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance CMMS Programs
  • Familiarity with TS16949 or IATF 16949, Environmental Management System and OSHA Requirements

External

  • Work continuously with hourly workforce, facility leadership team, maintenance team and senior management team.
  • Provide continous support to facility maintenance team to ensure continued operation of equipment.

  • Work with OEM’s, Vendor, and Suppliers.
  • Contact vendors for outside support.

Working Conditions

The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:

  • Manufacturing/production floor environment high level exposure.
  • Electrical and Machine Operational exposures.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn at all times on the production floor.
