Plant Mainenance Lead

Location: Lebanon, TN (Nashville, TN)

1. Job Summary

  • Oversees the operational effectiveness of world-class manufacturing equipment and facilities in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures maintenance and staffing requirements are met, competent leadership is maintained, and a safe work environment exists for all employees.
  • Ensures adherence to IATF16949 requirements and enforces all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures, current attendance program, and disciplinary action program.

 

Key Responsibility

• Ensures the efficient and effective readiness of manufacturing equipment and building systems.

  • Schedule maintenance activities based on production releases to minimize inventory.
  • Ensure maintenance requests and work orders are prioritized, completed, and tracked in accordance with operational needs.
  • Ensure all work is performed properly and in accordance with safety procedures and OEM instructions
  • Oversee equipment to ensure proper handling.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for Capital Project installations.

• Oversees and takes a leadership role to address daily operations and problem areas

  • Be visible, assume leadership, and assist in developing and initiating an effective health and safety attitude. Participate and initiate in continuous safety training.
  • Receive and review shift reports from production supervisors and address areas of concern.
  • Maintain communication channels with production personnel to ensure efficient daily operations. When and where required, train and assist production personnel.  
  • Ensure the production floor is well equipped, well maintained, and efficiently designed 
    • Per the IATF16949 requirements, ensure the hat production floor is equipped with proper work instructions and procedures to carry out manufacturing activities.
    • Ensure properly maintained equipment and appropriately trained personnel are available to carry out these activities.
    • Support new program launches and engineer changes that include floor layouts, staffing, and quality and tooling requirements.
    • Provide a continuous review of departmental processes to improve the overall effectiveness.
  • Establish or assist in the creation of robust safety, environmental, and quality control plans
    • Assist the quality team in the creation and implementation of quality control plans FMEAs.
    • Ensure that the OSHA and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to.
    • Comply with provisions of the OSHA Regulations and Environmental Standards and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the employees.  
    • Ensure employees are acquainted with and aware of the hazards present in the workplace and provide information, instruction, and competent supervision of employees. 
    • Act as Owner/Operator representative for Environmental Programs, Reports, and Applications.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma, GED completion, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years working in an industrial manufacturing maintenance environment
  • 2+ years working in a supervisory role in manufacturing
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Strong technical background and a general understanding of good manufacturing practices
  • Fluent in English (verbal, reading, writing)
  • Experience using MS Office Suite

Laboratory Manager

Location: Lebanon, TN (Nashville, TN)

1. Job Summary

The Laboratory Manager must be a solutions-driven individual with hands-on technical skills. Extensive experience in polyurethane/polyurea chemistries and a thorough understanding of the capabilities of the Innovations Laboratory to lead new product development projects. Must establish and maintain close communications with manufacturing, field sales, and other technical resources to coordinate systems aligned with business priorities and customer expectations. The Laboratory Manager will assign workflows to the Product Development team and ensure all necessary ISO 17025 compliance documentation is completed.

Key Responsibility

  • Establishes Product Development laboratory priorities based upon customer needs and business priorities.
    • Works closely with field sales to align customer needs with laboratory capacity
    • Assigns workflows for Product Development Associates
    • Supports the franchise and manufacturing/industrial customer networks
  • Manage ISO 17025 standards and facilitates qualification.
    • Ensures all corrective actions are completed on a timely basis
  • Research targeted application performance requirements and applies critical knowledge of polyurethane/polyurea formulation technologies to develop or improve existing characteristics to meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Interact with raw material suppliers
    • Manage formulation databases and other business confidential information
  • Directly interface with UL, GFX, or Line-X franchises to help investigate and recommend solutions to mitigate product performance issues.
  • Help drive Stage Gate PD process to efficiently expedite new product innovation to launch process
    • Compile and coordinate progress to project milestones and provide interface to business team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development and/or research and development
  • Experience and expertise in sample testing and quality control which includes knowledge of elastomers, resin systems, and isocyanates, plus the related physical tests according to ASTM standards (Titration, gel time, Tensile Strength, Tabor abrasion, Adhesion…)
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and change direction quickly dependent on tasks
  • Understand and comply with ISO 17025 quality systems to ensure conformance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative
